De Costa Dorada ligt aan de noordoost-kust van Spanje. De
Costa Dorada wordt gevormd door de kust-gebieden van de
provincie Barcelona en strekt zich uit van Barcelona tot Salou.
Het gebied wordt omgeven door een glooiend achterland met veel
akkerbouw en wijngaarden, met aan de kust mooie, brede zandstranden.
Deze ingrediënten maken dit gedeelte van Spanje tot een ware
familievakantie bestemming. De vakantieplaats Calafell Strand ligt ca. 60 km
ten zuiden van Barcelona en ca 30 km ten noorden
van Salou aan de Costa Dorada, Spanje.

Comming from the autoroads AP-2 or AP-7 take the Exit 31, in El Vendrell.
Then continue on the autoroad C-32 and exit in Calafell.
Once out, follow direction to Calafell Platja and you will arrive next
to the train station. Go under it.
Continue on the right and make the change of direction at 50 m.
After that you must turn right at the first or second streets allowed
(Passatge de Sant Antoni or Pintor Mir). At the next corner you will find Vilamar
street and we are on the corner.

It's possible to arrive to Calafell by bus.
There are buses that arrives directly to Calafell from different Spanish cities.
Or from you can arrive from your country to Barcelona Bus Station
(Barcelona Estació del Nord or Barcelona Estació de Sants),
and from there arrive to Calafell by train in 1 hour.
Moreover our Apartment Hotel is located 150 metres from the bus or train station.

Instructions:
- Estació del Nord: If you arrive by bus to Barcelona Estació del Nord.
Once there go to Barcelona Arc del Triomf train Station,
that is located at the side of the bus station.
From Barcelona Arc de Triomf get the train to Barcelona Sants,
These trains depart every 10 mins approx.
At Barcelona Sants transfer to platforms 9/10 and
get the train to St. Vicenç de Calders and get off at Calafell.
It will be clearly signposted. These trains depart every 30 mins approx.
It takes less than 1 hour. Last train at 23:00 hrs.
- Barcelona Sants: If you arrive by bus to Barcelona Sants.
Once there go to Barcelona Sants train Station,
that is located at the side of the bus station.
At Barcelona Sants get the train to St.
Vicenç de Calders (platforms 9/10) and get off at Calafell.
It will be clearly signposted. These trains depart every 30 mins approx.
It takes less than 1 hour. Last train at 23:00 hrs.

Near us there are 3 airports:

Barcelona Airport (45 km) is bigger and it hat many ofers from low cost
flying companies. From this aiport you can arrive by train, by bus or by taxi.
-
Reus airport (35 km) from this one we recomend you to come by taxi,
but it is also possible to arrive by public transport.
- Girona airport (150 km) to arrive at Calafell we recomend you to rent a car
but it is also possible to arrive by public transport or by taxi.
By public transport you have to take first one bus to Barcelona (about 1
hour) and then next to the bus stop there is the train station where you
have to take a train to Calafell (about 1 hour).

Barcelona Airport (45 km)
HOW TO ARRIVE FROM BARCELONA AIRPORT TO CALAFELL BEACH
From Barcelona Airport you can arrive easily to Calafell by public transport (by train or by bus) or also by taxi.
Moreover you can also arrive renting a car for all the days or just for 1 day.
Once at Calafell is quite easy to arrive fast everywhere by public transport, so we do not recommend you to rent a car,
unless you arrive very late in the night.
It is quite easy to arrive to Calafell by public transport.
The best option depends on the terminal that you arrives.
Moreover there are free buses connecting the terminals (T1 and T2)

- PUBLIC TRANSPORT ARRIVING AT TERMINAL 1 (T1)
- BUS L99 + TRAIN (about 4.50.-Eur/person, 90 min):
From Barcelona airport it is possible to arrive at Calafell by bus plus train, it takes
about 90 minutes. The Apartment hotel Costa d'Or is located 150 metres from the train station.
- Instructions:
- BUS L99 From Barcelona Airport Bus Station get the bus L99 direction Castelldefels
and get off at Castelldefels "Avda. Constitució-Avda. Sta Maria". It will be clearly signposted.
These buses depart from Barcelona Airport Terminal 1 every 30 mins approx (x:15 und x:45 h).
It takes 25 minutes. Last bus from Barcelona airport at 22:15 hrs. The ticket costs 1.40.-Eur per person.
The bus stop in Castelldefels is located just in front of Castelldefels train station
and is called "Avda. Constitució-Avda. Sta. Maria".

- TRAIN At Castelldefels get the train at to St. Vicenç de Calders
at platform 1 and get off at Calafell. It will be clearly signposted.
These trains depart every 30 mins approx (x:25 und x:55 h). It takes 35 minutes.
Last trains from Castelledefels to Calafell at 22:25 hrs. und 23:25 hrs.
- Prices: The bus ticket costs 1.40.-Eur per person. And the train prices are as follows: Return tickets costs approx. 3 Euros. Special offer !!

- BUS MON BUS (about 4.50.-Eur/person, 90 min.): From Barcelona airport (Terminal 1) it is also possible
to arrive at Calafell by bus, it takes about 1 & 1/2 hours.
The Apartment hotel Costa d'Or is located 150 metres from the bus stop.
- Instructions: From Barcelona Airport Terminal 1 get the bus to El Vendrell/Tarragona
and get off at Calafell.
These bus depart every hour approx. Last bus at 19:40 hrs.
The bus company is called MON-BUS and the buses leave from the bus station at Terminal 1
(Buses "Interurbans" - Platforms from 7 to 9).

- Instructions: From Barcelona Airport get the train to Barcelona Sants.
These trains depart every 30 mins approx. It takes 20 minutes.
At Barcelona Sants transfer to platforms 9/10.
Get the train to St. Vicenç de Calders
and get off at Calafell. It will be clearly signposted.
These trains depart every 30 mins approx (x:06 hrs. and x:36 hrs.). It takes less than 1 hour.
Last train from Barcelona Sants at 22:06 hrs and 23:06 hrs.

It costs from 80 to 95 Eur, and it takes about 1 hour.
It is better to get a price before leaving from Barcelona airport.

RENT A CAR AT BARCELONA AIRPORT (from 60.-Eur/day, 60 min.) :
In case that you only want to visit the most
important places like Barcelona, Tarragona, Port Aventura Theme Park,
Aqualand Water Park, then we don not recommend you to rent a car,
because you can visit all these places with public transport.
Anyway the following list provides some suggested suppliers at Barcelona airport: Avis, Hertz, Europcar, ...

RENT A CAR JUST FOR 1 DAY AT BARCELONA AIRPORT:
- From Barcelona airport we do not recommend you to rent a car to arrive at Calafell.
Because, if once at Calafell, you want to enjoy the beach and only visit the most important places
(like Barcelona, Tarragona, Port Aventura Theme Park, Aqualand Water Park),
you can visit all of them with public transport.
So if you arrive late in the night it could be a good option to rent the car just for 1 day
- We recommend to rent a car at the arrival at Barcelona airport for 1 day and
return it to a diferent place, closer to Calafell and it costs about 90.-Eur.
- Price: from 90.-Eur
- Travel time: about 90 min

- Instructions: In that case we recommend to rent a car for just for 1 day with Europcar
at Barcelona airport and return it at Vilanova i la Geltru the next day.
And afterthat you can return to Calafell by train in 15 min. Trains every 30 min.
Europcar has an office close to Vilanova train station and this town is also a nice place to have a walk.
Moreover you can visit for example Montserrat just before returning the car.
Reus Airport (35 km)

Taxi: There is a taxi rank outside the arrivals hall from Reus airport which
cost approximately 65 to 75.-Eur to Calafell, and it takes about 30 minutes.
It's better to get a price before leaving.

Pre-book a Reus airport transfer: If you are interested please tell us and
a taxi or a a minibus will wait for your flight on arrival.

Public transport: There is also a bus stop in front of the arrivals door
from Reus airport, from where you can take a bus to Reus Train Station (30 min.).
Bus times depend on flight arrivals.
From Reus Train Sation there are train connections to Calafell .
First of all get the train to Barcelona and get off at St. Vicenç de Calders (about 30 min).
Once at St. Vicenç de Calders transfer to another a train to Barcelona and get off at Calafell (about 5 min).
It will be clearly signposted. These trains depart every 30 min. approx.
Last train from St. Vicenç de Calders to Calafell at 22:00 hrs.

Rent a car: at Reus airport.
In case that you only want to visit the most
important places like Barcelona, Tarragona, Port Aventura Theme Park,
Aqualand Water Park, then we don't recomend you to rent a car,
because you can visit all these places once at Calafell with public transport.
But it is a good option if your plane arrives late and you don't want to take a taxi.

Girona Airport (150 km)

Rent a car:
From Girona airport we recommend you to rent a car to arrive at Calafell.
You can arrive in about 90 minutes, following AP-7 direction Tarragona until the exit 31 (El Vendrell)
and then taking C-32 direction Barcelona and exit at the 1st exit that is Calafell.
Once at Calafell follow the instructions How to arrive by car.

Taxi: There is a taxi rank outside the arrivals hall from Girona airport which
cost approximately 230.-Eur to Calafell, and it takes about 90 minutes.
It's better to get a price before leaving.

Public transport:
It is also possible, but it takes longer due to the tranfers. We don't recommend if you arrive late.
By public transport you have to take first one bus at Girona airport to Barcelona-Estació del Nord.
It takes about than 1 hour. Bus times depend on flight arrivals.
And once at Barcelona-Estació del Nord, next to the bus station there is the train station
Barcelona Arc de Triomf, where you can take the train to Calafell. It takes about 1 hour.
First you have to take a train to Estació de Sants ( Trains every 5 minutes and it takes about 5 minutes)
and in Estació de Sants transfer to platforms 9/10 and there get the train to St. Vicenç de Calders and get off at Calafell.
It will be clearly signposted. These trains depart every 30 mins approx.
It takes less than 1 hour. Last train from Barcelona Sants at 23:00 hrs.
